the artist

Patrick Normoyle always wants to do something different. After his Junior Cert. he didn’t want to take French so he took art; after school he began studying electronics and hated it … so after two months of missing classes and receiving admonishing letters, he put together a portfolio of his paintings and completed a year-long FAS course in art.

Born in Adare in 1970 and he was encouraged by his grandmother to develop his drawing abilities. After doing the FAS course he entered art college in Limerick in 1989 where he studied print making while painting in his own time and selling watercolours and oils of local landscapes. ´It was good for my confidence and technique experience but conventional landscapes don’t interest me any more.´
