the artist

Appearing at the extremes of our vision-lines, vague and exact divisions of what we see. Perception, memory, and our brains fill in the gaps.

These paintings represent an attempt to create these situations outside the framework of peoples’ familiar places, and to remove the crutch of previous knowledge from the equation.

I represent basic elements of landscape, a horizon line, the appearance of a tree or hedge shape. These are suggested to a greater or lesser degree. The viewer is invited to reflect/interpret as they see fit.
